Metro-area Schools Closed for Snow Why is DC the only school district open within a fifty mile radius.  Everything is closed including the Federal Government.  Neighborhood streets and sidewalks have not been cleared.  School personnel living in the suburbs, particularly in Maryland, will not be able to report for duty.  Fenty and Rh

by: croll51552 in D.C. Metro-area Schools Closed for Snow Why are the District schools open on Monday at all? Fenty needs to take the kids safety into consideration. If I had kids in DCPS, I'd keep them home until the streets were cleared enough to walk on.
